Conferences
Every two years, the Oceans Past Initiative (OPI) hosts an International Conference that embody the ethos and work of its Members and provides the opportunity to present their research through lectures, posters, or other presentation formats. While the conference may highlight specific research themes, the program is designed to foster a broad exchange of ideas among researchers from various fields in the study of historical marine ecology.
A General Meeting, open to all individual members in good standing, takes place during the OPI Conference. During this meeting, general business is conducted, which may include voting for officers and members of the international committee as outlined in the OPI statutes. A summary of the General Meeting will be included in the OPI newsletter following the conference.
